Why gelatin?
As an ingredient, gelatin offers manufacturers several benefits that make it stand out. These include:
Clean label
Gelatin is classified as a foodstuff, not a food additive, and has received GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). A food ingredient with no E number, gelatin appeals to consumers seeking clean labeling on products.
Unique properties and functionalities
No other ingredient exhibits as many functionalities and properties as gelatin, which makes it an unrivaled asset to formulation design and to shorter ingredient lists.
Sustainability
Originating from the meat processing industry, gelatin is an upcycled ingredient that contributes to a circular and more sustainable economy.
How it works
Production process
Our gelatins are obtained through the partial hydrolysis of collagen found in the bones and skin of bovine, porcine and fish sources. We use two methods to manufactue gelatin: alkaline and acid. Every stage of the process occurs under strict hygienic conditions, and no chemical modification occurs throughout production.
