Animal Health and Welfare Policy
We work with regulatory agencies to protect animal health and well-being and to ensure our compliance to applicable regulations.
Darling has worked diligently with regulatory agencies at the federal, state and local levels where we operate to protect animal health and well-being and ensure compliance to applicable regulations. Darling recognizes its responsibilities in the area of animal health and welfare and takes those responsibilities seriously.
Darling has policies and procedures in place to ensure that it does not accept live animals at any of its facilities. In the event that a living animal is presented to one of its facilities, Darling employees are directed to seek assistance from an animal health or other trained professional to ensure that the animal is humanely treated.
We support the following animal health and welfare associations:
- National Institute for Animal Agriculture
- Poultry Science Association
- American Dairy Science Association
